Bring the gears back home

Spring is here, spring is here
Life is skittles and life is beer
I think the loveliest time of the year
Is the spring, I do, don’t you?

‘Course you do!

But there’s one thing that makes spring complete for me…

(Actually, spring always makes me depressed but
I like that I can start to tide my road bike again
and I like this song’s lyrics)

that is to get my road bike prepared for meee!

So last week I went to Bianchi Café & Cycles here in Västerås and handed in my good ol’ Rose to Tomas, the man with the golden hands.

Today, my bike was ready. I had asked Tomas to fix the malfunctioning rear derailleur and also check the crankset. Thankfully, nothing was broken and everything seems to function well now. But of course, I need to change the chain, to take off the trainer wheels, to change the brake pads and to clean and lube this fellow and its parts.

Thanx Bianchi and particularly Tomas and maybe, I’ll be able to take this Rose out the coming weekend already!

Still, I already feel a bout of separation anxiety but hey, just because the road season is here it doesn’t mean that I’m not allowed to take out my Ridley now and then. Especially this year when my racing focus is on the Swedish Cyclocross cup this Autumn.

Have you already started riding your road bike season?
